Peace cafe lunch

Yesterday was a bright sunny day so I suggested we try a new restaurant called Peace Cafe which is by the 玉川 Tamagawa River one station away from us. It is a really nice outdoor alfresco style dining which is seasonal i.e. only open in Spring/Summer!

I didn't have too high an expectation of the food cos I thought it would be standard cafe fare but it turned out to be kinda gourmet. We'd ordered a seared duck starter and 2 pasta dishes. My dish was veal cheeks linguine and I loved every bite of the soft succulent veal with the strong garlic taste.

Keina, is already growing to be discerning about food (preferring flavors rather than plain rice porridge these days), eyes my pasta in a very intense stare:

Sporting her hat of the season from her papa:

She was fussing a lil whilst we tried to enjoy our meal- really salivating and looked hungry so we had to distract her with some water from her sippy cup:

Just in front of the restaurant was a nice wading pool area that they had dammed up partially from the main river. It was a novelty dipping our feet into the cold water- a great relief from the blazing hot sunny weather:

Keina's first dip into natural waters (check out her humungous thighs- I'm so fascinated with it every day- more so than the cheeks):

Can't quite tell if she liked the water cos I think the coldness of it may have seemed strange to her but she didn't cry or anything so I guess that there is  good possibility she wouldn't mind the great outdoors in the future. Can't wait to go on a family camping trip!
