Not quite alone on a hot summer day

We had quite a bit of a storm yesterday and as the skies have cleared, I woke up this morning to a beautiful blue sky. Stared out my balcony for a few minutes before getting onto my 15-30min of yoga that I try to squeeze in every morning. The empty patch of land in front has also turned into a nice carpet of green just begging to be turned into a playground before it gets run over by awful concrete developments. Well, I hope not too awful when that happens. Anyway, it was also thankfully not too warm as I walked home after work this evening. N is working late nights again so it was me coming home. But for the first time, it really struck me that I was not alone. The stretch and weight of my stomach reminded me that Puchi was with me every step I took and tonight, I headed home full of song in my heart. The songs I love come naturally to me. But alas the tunes are not quite the same. Original I would say. But I sang with love. It is funny how the ones that came most easily are the ones I remember from years further back. My dad's oldies like Moon River. Oh how I love that song. I sang it 3 times to Puchi. Or something from the Sound of Music. Probably my favourite musical film ever.

As I looked around, I wondered how Puchi will see this world. Every different blade of long grass or overgrown weed, a beauty. Every bulb of light, a fascinating illumination. Every scent, a wonder. And I suppose it will have a zillion questions about this place called Earth. How, what, why, where, when, who etc. I can only hope I have a google at hand for my secret hunt for answers when that happens. You won't believe how much General Knowledge I lack. Nonetheless, I will endeavor to have the patience to entertain Puchi's curiosity. 頑張ります!
