Buffet breakfast

Still in the spirit of our anniversary, we woke at 0710h, left the house by 0740h and arrived 0830h at the Westin Tokyo for their popular breakfast buffet. We stuffed ourselves the whole TWO HOURS we were there to make sure we ate our money's worth for both breakfast and lunch. As we were brisk walking, in true Singaporean fashion, I reminded Naoki to not go for the carbs until the end in case he risks filling his stomach too early.

A momento shot to commemorate the lovely day-
heart-shaped rattler from N's aunt
Fantastic freshly squeezed juices
done right in front of us!
Hmmrph-
I don't get to eat and yet you trap me in this high chair!
*she actually had pearsauce for her 5 day constipation

N's last round- a full Japanese breakfast
assortment of pickles, appetizers
and miso soup with rice
Spot the dangling leg.
Happy to feed her anywhere!
A few moments of peaceful reading
Lounging at the lobby as we were too full to move
Pinned up K's hair at the back
Looked quite chic but couldn't get a good shot
Pondering if we should hit the stores at 11am

It was well worth the effort waking and getting out of the house early and well worth the money as the food was pretty good. I thought the spread could be a bit more extensive. My biggest gripe was the lack of noodles. They did have penne but that doesn't count in my dictionary.

Favorite food discovery:
After Eight fruit juice (which tastes really close to the mint After Eight chocolate which I love)

Favorite yummy dishes:
Fresh omelette, salmon, spinach (very ordinary but I can eat a lot of all 3 foods)

After the pig-out, we did a mad shopping rush around Ebisu to pick out gifts for people. Then zipped to Roppongi to meet with N's ex who is 9mth preggie and recently married. They both previously met at this English language school so the mates gathered for a reunion of sorts. Even her husband was an ex-classmate. Hmm. Anyway, we made a courtesy appearance at the restaurant and presented her with gifts of glasses and a book for the lil baby boy-to-be. It felt a lil longer than expected but it was all just pleasantries and when you have a baby, the baby deflects all awkwardness at social functions. It's always- Oh, so cute. How old is she? Oh, is she eating already? Wow, she can stand on your lap huh? That kinda thing... The day ended with a trip to the National Art Center Museum Shop to pick out yet another gift. This time for N's mom's birthday and then back to Yoga for our usual Ootoya dinner in the neighborhood.

honestly babe, I don't know if I out-gorgeous her. She has a preggie glow I can't beat with my malnourished face! haha.. but I tried my best to look sharp and even made the effort to put on makeup and a pair of bling earrings. As for N's verdict, of course he's on my side lah! a lil awkward but can't be bothered. next up, we're thinking of lunch at the Grand Hyatt! hahaha... yes, dining out with a baby requires true dedication!
