We were at a small restaurant of Vivo City when Keina pointed to my Sesame Street T-shirt and exclaimed- Elmo! Naoki and I were very surprised as we haven't actively taught her to associate the character with the name. It was probably a month ago when Weiyin visited with the Elmo book and even so, after she left, it wasn't a book we read religiously. It is just so amazing how much babies store in their heads and how they surprise you. After the Elmo incident, Naoki proceeded to show her the Elmo song video on youtube and that night, before bed, she couldn't stop uttering his name. She sounded lovesick. Pining away for him in her drowsy state, calling his name just before bedtime. Just now, I caught her stirring in the middle of her sleep, saying Elmo again. It just tickles us endlessly to hear her go on and on that way. Her favorite words in Singapore were Apple, Uncle & Elmo with the last being used most intensively. Naoki even tried his hand at a UFO catcher to try to get her a large sized Elmo (we already got her a 12" version) but I stopped him from going overboard. Like most things, it is probably just a phase she will grow out of.
Anyway, other highlights since we got home to Tokyo:
- loves to hug and walk around with not one, but two soft toys- Elmo and Raggedy Ann
- managed to put her feet into my grey room slippers and shuffled a little
- fits the round and the rectangular block into her puzzle box but threw a mini tantrum when she couldn't get fit it towards the end.. the lack of patience in her scares me a lil
- is lazy about feeding herself.. all those nights of Gonggong feeding her in SG really got her used to being fed like a princess.. my mission is to get her to self-feed again
- another bout of constipation.. my poor girl had too much bread I think from the flight back
- despite how my cheap 100yen pole-bar barricading my kitchen door keeps being dislodged by K, she hasn't tried to crawl through the gap yet.. it's interesting how for the moment, she respects that the kitchen is out of bound
- after a month of summer clothes, she isn't accustomed to the weight of her winter jackets and keeps tripping from being off balanced.. it's quite funny to see her toppling over like she just started walking again

Yay! Update! Haha..I think it's super cute how Keina is in love with Elmo! Looks like we did well reading to her! Pictures next? =P
